Outer Islands Project Art Exhibition

On June 14th 2018, friends Ayden and Claire departed from Killbear Provincial Park in a bid to circumnavigate Georgian Bay by kayak. 17 days and more than 600 kilometers later, the pair completed the trip and arrived back in Nobel at Felsman Bay. They documented their trip on their Instagram page, @GBayAdventure.

According to Ayden, "our desire to circumnavigate Georgian Bay was to adventure around our 'backyard' and spark conservation about the care and protection that we all need to provide this incredible water and land we have the opportunity to enjoy."

We had the opportunity to discuss the trip with Ayden before they got started and provided her with some extra camera batteries in the hope that she could provide Jessica with some interesting photos from their adventure suitable for painting. The idea was simple - a portion of proceeds from any painting based on her photos that sold would be donated to the "cause" of her choice, and Ayden chose the Outer Islands Project.

To make the exhibition of these paintings more interesting, we have created a self-guided art tour to display them. You can see all of the paintings in this exhibition live and in person by visiting the locations shown on our Outer Islands Project Art Tour Map, a Google map that plots out the great Parry Sound and Area shops, spaces and restaurants hosting the work.

You can purchase any of the paintings in this exhibition using the links below, or by visiting our shop at 18 James Street. Thanks for looking and enjoy the tour!
